Sad.

Actress Amanda Peterson, who was best known for her role opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 teen movie "Can't Buy Me Love,"  has died at the age of 43, her father told TMZ.

According to the website, Peterson's body was discovered in her home in Greeley, Colorado, on July 5 after her family hadn't heard from her in two days.

Her cause of death is still unknown, but her father told the website, "She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed."

Peterson got her start as a child actress in the early 1980s, landing small roles on "Silver Spoons," Boone" and the movie musical "Annie," before nabbing her most memorable role in "Can't Buy Me Love."  The actress was last seen on screen in 1994's "Windrunner."

WWE legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper died after suffering a heart attack in his Hollywood home. He was 61.

Born Roderick George Toombs, Piper joined the WWE in 1984 after getting his start with the NWA in the late 1970s. He and Hulk Hogan met in landmark matchups including MTV’s “The War to Settle the Score” and the first WrestleMania, where Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff took on Hogan and Mr. T.

Piper’s agent Jay Schacter confirmed the news, first reported by TMZ, to Variety.

“Rod passed peacefully in his sleep last night,” Schacter said in an email. “I am shocked and beyond devastated.”

Piper had suffered a bout of Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2006 but was reportedly deemed cancer-free last November.

The wrestler had also made a foray into film acting, starring in John Carpenter’s sci-fi pic “They Live,”

“Devastated to hear the news of my friend Roddy Piper’s passing today. He was a great wrestler, a masterful entertainer and a good friend,” Carpenter wrote on Facebook.

Other WWE stars quickly shared their condolences on Twitter.

R.I.P. Rowdy Roddy Piper. I still can't believe that Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior and Dusty Rhodes have all died over the last 4 years [frown]

Back in the 90's and early 2000's I was a huge wrestling fan, so hearing this news really sucks.

Christopher Hyndman, co-host of the CBC-TV afternoon lifestyles show Steven and Chris, was found dead in Toronto's east end Monday night, police confirm.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died," said the public broadcaster in a memo distributed to staff Tuesday afternoon.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to Steven [Sabados], family, friends and colleagues; our thoughts are with them all."

Toronto police told CBC News on Tuesday that Hyndman, 49, was found without vital signs in a laneway near the intersection of Queen Street and Broadview Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. ET Monday.

CBC arts reporter Eli Glasner said the location was near the apartment where Hyndman lived with Sabados, his off-screen partner and television co-host.

I saw way too many of his movies, going back to the Hills have Eyes. I think my favorite was Nightmare 3. Some great surreal moments.

Natalie Cole, whose hit songs included the duet Unforgettable with her father Nat "King" Cole, has died aged 65.

The Grammy-winning singer died on Thursday night at a hospital in Los Angeles, her publicist told the Associated Press news agency.

She rose to fame as an R&B artist with tracks such as This Will Be and Inseparable.
The singer had recently cancelled a series of performances, including one on New Year's Eve.
"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived... with dignity, strength and honour. Our beloved mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain unforgettable in our hearts forever,'' said a statement from her son Robert Yancy, and sisters, Timolin and Casey Cole, AP reported.

US civil rights activist Rev Jesse Jackson was among the first to tweet his condolences: "#NatalieCole, sister beloved & of substance and sound. May her soul rest in peace. #Inseparable."

Actor Abe Vigoda, who played the decrepit Detective Phil Fish in the television sitcom "Barney Miller" and Mafia lieutenant Sal Tessio in the original "Godfather" movie, died Tuesday, according to his manager, Sid Craig.

He was 94 years old.

Vigoda passed away at the New Jersey home of his daughter, Carol.

Though Vigoda achieved a good bit of fame from his 1970s "Godfather" role, his years on "Barney Miller" and the short-lived spinoff "Fish," he arguably became best known for being alive despite reports of his premature demise.

"I hope he knew about our tribute, and I hope he was amused by it. Our intent was always to bring a smile by pointing to his longevity, which was an inspiration," said Sun Sentinel reporter Rafael Olmeda, who ran Vigoda-themed social media pages.

People we've lost in 2016

A noted New York stage actor by the time Francis Ford Coppola came calling about "The Godfather," Vigoda had not read the book and wasn't thinking about mobster roles; he was Jewish, not Italian.

But Coppola liked him as a mobster, and he won the role of Tessio in the 1972 original and returned for the 1974 sequel.

"The Godfather" was his first really big job, and he remembered a car being sent for him every day of shooting and sitting near Marlon Brando during makeup.

"I found him to be a quiet man. He kept mostly to himself," Vigoda told CNN in 2008. "He was a great star. This was my first big thing: I felt lucky and grateful I was with these people."

Notable to him was the presence of actual New York mob family members on the set. "They kept looking at me, as if to say, 'What family is he from?' " Vigoda said. "It was fascinating."

Robert Duvall, a "Godfather" co-star, remembered Vigoda in a statement.

"We had some great memories together and he will really be missed," Duvall said.

The "Godfather" movies led to his successful run on "Barney Miller," which ran from 1974-82 and starred Hal Linden as the title character. Vigoda was on the show until 1977.

"Abe was responsible for as much of the success of 'Barney Miller' as I was -- easily. More so than me," Linden told CNN. "We all owe a great debt of gratitude to a fine character actor who created a very memorable character that will go on and on, with all the re-runs. Thank God people will get to see what Abe did."

Vigoda was nominated for three Emmy awards for his performance as Fish. In contrast to the very fit Vigoda, a dedicated handball player and jogger, Detective Fish complained about his aches, his pains, his bladder problems and hemorrhoids, always seeming on the verge of death.
