End of pre-season as long as everyone buys in to the new coaching staff. Ultimately, 95% of the roster was here last season and I believe Danny Green will be an easy fit he has a great attitude (same for Monroe). I think this is a great group of guys so I can't see there being an issue with Leonard getting along with everyone. Point to me one player that seems to be hard to get along with? Lowry imo can be rough around the edges but he gets along with the young group and imo will be fine once they all get on the floor, he wants to win.

I also think there will be team bonding outings in the next couple weeks which is important.

Good points, and Leonard slots in where DD was. I think it might take about 10-15 games, mostly because of the depth and some new roles for players (e.g., JV's expanded role, where Ibaka ends up).

The team bonding started today with the flight to Vancouver and starting training camp on the West Coast.

It depends on what is meant by meshing. I think they’ll start meshing pretty early, but it’ll likely be a continuing process, with a lot of different things being tried and a need to face some different tough situations.

I think it will go quickly, the core is the same, kawhi and danny are a low-maintenance guys and nearly everybody has a defense first mentality and quite good instincts. Offensively it may take a bit for everybody to find their spots and their shot though, so I'd say about 20 games in everybody should be fairly familiar with the schemes and the rotation should be somewhat settled by then as well.

Barring many injuries that will mess up this process, I'd say end of November we should be at 90% or so. I agree that it will take a much longer time to get to 100%, but we'll get be close enough by then.

I see both sides on this.

Nurse will be much more dynamic in his approach so this should mean the team will make more mistakes throughout the season simply because they are learning and trying so much more.

That shouldn’t be confused however with meshing. I think this is a very good character group of guys who will play better team basketball than last years group. It should take some time, especially with a new staff, but I’m convinced they will be properly prepared for the playoffs this season and that should have always been the target for deep meshing.

Better team basketball than last year? That's a tall order. Last year's group was a special team that played great team basketball. Should be able to match that but exceeding that won't be that simple.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of Lowry and DD "chemistry" on the court. Lowry feeds DD as he curls (any NBA PG can do that). Lowry passes it to DD and he goes ISO (any offensive player can do that). The only rare occasion I do see them have "chemistry" is when Lowry goes baseline...and for some reason he knows DD is cutting in the middle and he goes for a dunk!

DD hovers around his sweet spots (mid-range elbows) or on the sides so he can get a screen to get a pass. Leonard's range stretches to the 3pt line so that's more spacing for us on offense. I don't think there will be any long learning curve for these two. Just learn each other's tendencies and play ball.

If you narrow the focus to the latter half of every 4th Q, it should be pretty easy to exceed that level of team basketball.

I don’t know if it’s a matter of meshing, but Kawhi’s game will simply compliment Kyle’s so much. Or at least it should. The team game will grow as a result of that and as a result of Nurse looking to win in different ways and looking to build upon what only really got started last season.

Demar was liked by everyone... but you got to wonder if team mates at time questioned the shot selection and usage/productivity. Val’s percentages for example should have demanded a higher usage IMO. Casey’s “he’s our guy” treatment of Bargs, Rudy, Demar etc would wear on me if I was a teammate.

if the starting unit can play like the bench players style for most of last year (minus playoffs of course) it will actually be a big improvement. I think its very possible as Green and Kawhi arent ball dominant guys and defensively they are both upgrades from the starters we had at those positions last year. Will make more transition buckets and fast break opportunities materialize with more options to stretch the floor on pull up 3s from almost every starter.

i just think a guy like Nurse must be salivating at the possibilities. I dont mind giving up regular season wins in order to get the team used to be a more varied "best shot available" approach even in crunch time.
