https://www.nba.com/raptors/press-release/raptors-waive-lorenzo-brown

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have waived guard Lorenzo Brown. He appeared in 40 games over two seasons with the Raptors averaging 2.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists. Brown also appeared in 32 games with Raptors 905 during the 2017-18 season and was named the NBA G League MVP. Toronto’s roster now stands at 15 players.

Like this. Good guy, but I'd rather keep the roster spot open until we find a stretch 4 via buy-out market next month.

Especially now that Norm has come on strong and Lowry is back.

We already had an open roster spot so this is more about saving money.

Well, it can be both.  If you accept that they aren't going to spend money to add a 15th guy (which would be silly, huge cost for marginal gain), then the conclusion is they open a roster spot (the 14th) to add a guy without increasing cost.

Exactly. Add a stretch 4 by using the money you would have been paying Brown. We are so guard heavy as is. Losing Brown is not a big deal.

Lowry, Fred, Delon, Norm, Green, Richardson, Lloyd...are all guards.

Leonard, OG, CJ...our only true forwards on the team.

We don't need Brown.

Would be cool to add Ryan Anderson. He is guaranteed just 7M$ out of 20M$ for next season, maybe he gets sick of Phoenix.

I don't put any weight on that given it is happening in Phoenix. No role player is looking good in Phoenix.

He is a deadly shooter with very long range and has been for a few years. He is a complete hole everywhere else and a crater on defense. But he'd be a shooter on the bench and on a good team he has far better chance to shoot well and get good shots than on the tanking shit show. And even if all he does is provide some spacing in key moments and distraction...that is still valuable for 14th guy.

it's not like he was better in Houston, the guy has been washed out for years - since Orlando really, hasn't done anything much. I think he had maybe one decent season in New Orleans and after that he's been useless.

I agree with Milky - Ryan Anderson has little to no value. He's such a pylon on defence that any offensive contributions would be wiped out. Heck, offensively, he's too one-dimensional and has looked slow the past couple of years.

If Marvin Williams didn't have another year left on his deal at $15M+, he would be a good pickup.

To possibly elT's chagrin, Markieff Morris, when he's back from his injury, might be a good fit. Miles for Morris works (Morris' contract expires after the season).

WHY DO YOU WANT ME TO GIVE UP ON MY TEAM?!!!!! WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU?!!! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE THIS WAY?

Morris would be a good fit if he could keep his damn head on straight. He is friend with Lowry and that could help. Irrational confidence guy, as Bill Simmons calls it, might be a good fit even if it would really difficult to cheer for the guy. But I sat through some Andrea Bargnani seasons so I might be able to handle it. If not, I'll send you the bill for sedatives I'll have to use because if it happens, you're the one who spoke it into existence.

now that wall is gone, the wizards are actually playing a lot better, they beat the crap out of OKC the other night. They've struggled a bit when porter was out, as they were really thin. They are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, and they're fairly thin in the front court, so I doubt they'd be interested.

Trade deadline is only a month away, so unless they really fall off (you have to play extremely badly to lose a lot of ground to the likes of Orlando and Detroit …), they will probably still hope. They would be better suited to tank, but like Thibs in minny, the front office is on very thin ground and making the playoffs is probably far more important for them 😉

plus, how do you put together a salary package for morris, you'd have to trade Monroe, which makes us even thinner at C. Unless you trick them in to getting miles somehow 😉

CJ makes 8.333, Morris makes 8.6, salary wise, it is a perfect match for CBA rules. Wizards are over tax, they might want some cash on top.
