Northern Neighbour
With March Madness around the corner, NBA Draft talk will start heating up. There are the consensus top-5 players - Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Ja Morant, Rui Hachimura, and Cameron Reddish. After that, the "quality" drops (time will tell if this is true).

What are people's thoughts on the upcoming draft and some of the players? There is so much buzz around Zion with his explosive and physical style. I do wonder if he is a true franchise player. If he played in the '80s or '90s, he definitely would be a franchise guy. In today's NBA? Hard to say as he'll need to develop a jump shot, and he'll be playing against longer, taller, and equally physical players. He reminds me a lot of Larry Johnson with a bit of Blake Griffin.

The biggest question is, like with Andrew Wiggins, is motor. Does he have that extra gear and meannesss to be really great? Can he also expand his game and be more than a DeMar DeRozan clone? Barrett, obviously, has more range at the same age, but he needs to expand his playmaking and hit the outside shot more consistently.

Reddish looks like Jayson Tatum lite - superb athlete with very good skills across the board and the potential to be a star.

Morant appears to be everyone's favourite draft prospect outside of Zion. He's lightning quick, can shoot from outside, and is a good defender. He could be like Gary Payton, but he does have a high bust potential.

Outside of those top 5 guys, I'm really interested to see what becomes of Maryland's Bruno Fernando.  Super strong and athletic, with emerging but raw post talent.  He can't shoot a lick, but has great hands.  I'm not sure how it will translate to the NBA where everyone is bigger and faster and stronger, but I think he could be really good, especially if he can develop a jumper.

And the toronto kid as well - Nickeil Alexander-Walker.  I don't know much about his game though.
