That's correct, read that too but reading the rest of that quote you can see that he want's out - or wouldn't mind out anyways.  Flip side, I can see why he wasn't bought out yet, I didn't realize Pau had another year left though it's only 6.7 million guaranteed.  I can see the Spurs waiting as long as possible this season to reduce the number of a possible buy-out.

Quote:

Pau Gasol denied that he requested a trade at the deadline, but acknowledged he is unsatisfied with his current role in San Antonio.

"What's the source?" Gasol said of the ESPN Deportes story that stated he had requested a trade. "What's the validity of that story? I don't know. I didn't request to be traded... [but] I think people understand or can figure out that my situation is not what was expected for me." The 38-year-old is on the books for $16.8 million this season and is owed another $16 million next season, so a buyout seems unlikely, and it's also unlikely his role will change.

Quote:

The Oklahoma City Thunder are adding depth to their forecourt as they gear up for the postseason, agreeing to a free-agent deal with forward Markieff Morris, league sources told ESPN.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported Wednesday that Morris was picking between the Thunder, Lakers, Rockets and Raptors, among a few other interested teams.

The Athletic first reported the agreement.

Morris, 29, recently was traded by the Wizards to the Pelicans, and then agreed to a buyout to join a playoff contender. He last played on Dec. 26 after suffering a neck injury. He recently was cleared to play after receiving a second opinion.

After waiving guard Alex Abrines last week, the Thunder had three roster spots open and have filled them with two 10-day contracts (Richard Solomon and Scotty Hopson) and now Morris.

makes sense, tons of PT there with Patterson a non-factor. Perhaps he also wanted to avoid the east so he's not facing his brother, since they have that weird relationship 😉

OKC has a nice lineup, esp when Roberson comes back. I’m wondering though, with the Thunder signing ‘Kieff, does that mean/suggest the Thunder’s FO is worried Roberson is done for this season?

Is that based on having any idea where his game is at? I have no idea myself. I have to guess that he’s added three-point range. Very different game from when he entered the league. And if the Raptors are just looking for a guy to fill out the end of the bench without big expectations for playing time while offering a possibility of some upside, then he might fit the bill very nicely.

I'd probably no to thabeet, unless there's no chance at a Lopez/Gortat.

No matter where his game is, he brings zero experience. Better to have him than nothing, for that odd game where Ibaka and gasol get in foul trouble against embiid, but I'd much prefer a veteran center for our playoff run.

guessing he meant the upside a 7'3" guy could bring, it's not exactly something we have. Would be nice to see boban battling thabeet, I'll tell you that 😉

Oh, well then why would they bother even looking at him? I mean he might as well be 82.
