With the help of Magic and Bird, Stern took the NBA from near bankruptcy to being arguably the most popular and successful sports league in North America. Not only did he change how basketball was perceived, he changed how sports as a whole was marketed.

RIP Mr. David Stern.

Pretty bummed out over this. He was instrumental in Toronto getting a franchise. And making the game as great as it is.

He was a giant for sure.  Pretty much everyone involved in the nba owes him a debt of gratitude, and most of them also have a reason to hold a grudge.  He treaded a complicated line for 3 decades and made the nba great in the process.

RIP David Stern

Did amazing things on the business side for both players and owners. Even though I personally hate the way the nba calls games and he is a big reason why its called that way.  Guess we have to accept that it is a business and if you want to watch more for just the purity of basketball watch lower level basketball
