Multiple levels of suck ass take(TM):
This is already a complete win for me as two super hyped teams get to meet in the first round which means one's season ends which means considerably less hype.
But too much hype is mere annoyance. The Boston Celtics get a ton of it but at least they behave properly. Their coach works hard and works with what he has. Their players respond and play hard and enjoy the game. They play together, play hard, the right way and win. They don't control the media but also don't allow the media to control them.
The Bucks have let the hype get to their heads. They get up for big games or random games but often don't show up, often don't play hard, rarely together, rarely professional. At one point, they start hurting the game of basketball. And that is not acceptable.
This is the fight between a professional who has dealt with tons of injuries and a an underachieving bum who thinks he is better than everyone. The injuries give the bum a chance but the professional doesn't mind the extra effort, the extra hours, the dirty work, the sacrifice. The bum might merely adopt the discipline and energy necessary to compete but the professional was born into it, molded by it. Professional didn't experience the off-season until it was already August.
Still, there are issues, Celtics have struggled with scoring all year and especially with bench production. That might not change. That probably won't change so any outcome is possible here.
But, this should be a win for basketball, for all that is beautiful and joyful in this game. And it should be a deathblow to unwarranted hype. Or at least, a part of it.
