Damn. Helluva game. It was right there. Missed freethrows. Ball squirting loose way too often. Not quite enough defense to handle such a well-balanced attack. And the players should not be pissed. They should feel like they fought hard and just came out on the short end of a game that could have gone either way. They should look to get that much sharper, clean up some mistakes, and keep building on a lot of the good stuff. They are making some really nice plays, even without huge cogs in their offense. If they keep building on really solid offensive execution then watch out.

Can't blame the refs when you're missing freebies down the stretch...plus it's a home game for the pacers so there's obvious bias

Only missed 6 FT's but the non calls that work in the Pacers favour skews the outcome of a game. sigh....all good, cause now I'm sounding like those jilted fans in the "What They're saying" thread lmao

I can't understand why they didn't make an adjustment there in OT, getting burned over and over on 3's.  You just can't keep letting that happen.

They just looked like they didn’t have any gas left to run guys off the line anymore. Too many weapons if Holiday is going to start nailing them.

Yeah, not with Serge on the floor. I might have gone back to Boucher, but there's risk there with Indy's huge frontcourt anyway.

Only thing that really upset me in this one was the lame finish to the 4th Q. Run a real play. Gotta close it out on the road, not prolong the game.

Your hatred of Ibaka always kills me.

Serge was brutal defensively down the stretch in this one, you disagree? Wouldn't play up on the perimeter at all.

that looked like kyle trying to go hero mode, got caught in the moment a bit. Would have been an epic one had it gone in …

Most of the team was brutal defensively most of the game to be honest.  It's why they shot 47/42 from the field. If not for KL going off again the second half we lose this game by double digits in regulation in all likelihood.

The issue was Ibaka. The Pacers constantly attacked with the P&R, as they knew he would overhelp in the paint and not even bother coming out on the perimeter. This has been an issue with Ibaka since he’s been in Toronto.

Ibaka wasn’t the only Raptor who struggled defensively. FVV was constantly cheating in the paint, and he didn’t play the dogged defence on Holiday. He got the one steal on Lamb, but he gave Holiday too much respect (or maybe disrespect).

I seem to agree with your views most of the time and this one is spot on ...

Ibaka seemed lost on defense and our guards couldn't stop them from making simple penetration and then kick outs ... FVV is playing hurt and frankly Lowry got lazy on defense as well.  I would of given McCaw or Davis some burn late in the game instead of FVV given his mobility seems limited.

I hated the last play of the game and was very surprised Lowry didn't go to the rim and either take the shot in close or a kick-out ... anyways, certainly not blaming Lowry ... he gave it his all.

Enjoyable game ... let's build on it.

Didn't get a chance to watch this one in full - only the YT recap. Sounds like it was very much within our grasp. It's too bad we didn't come through. Ah well, onto the next!

Fred is obviously not 100%. That hurt them defensively. They did do a nice job of rotating and closing out on three pointers for about half of the game, but also expended a fair bit of energy doing so.

On the last play it would have maybe been nice had they done something like the first play in overtime where Serge got a nice look in the paint. Kyle’s shot looked really good though.

not only he's not 100%, but, as we've seen with kyle and serge, and we'll be seeing with pascal, Gasol and powell - it takes a few games after being back to build your rhythm. It's not like fred has been awful - mostly his shot is not falling yet.

not the same tenacious defense either. Just not moving right yet. Maybe he was ordered to be careful.
