It's counterintuitive, and the stats don't back it up, but I feel quite strongly that our team is at its best when the game plays at a slower pace.

Unfortunately, that's not in the cards, but the way kawhi plays, and now gasol, we really should slow the game to a crawl, Indiana style.

If we get in a track meet with Milwaukee, we will struggle to keep pace.

I don't think we should pick and choose one or the other. I think when we get stops and have Siakam, Kawhi, Lowry on the floor.....that's when you run and play faster. We should be able to play both ways depending on the situation, score and opponent. When the opportunity is there to ram it down the other teams throat we should, if not play half court and slow the pace down, play some zone etc...

Not that it matters too much, the playoffs tend to be a little slower, not as slow as it used to be but still a little slower than the regular season.

Sure, playing a slower pace doesn't mean forgoing fast breaks when they are available.

But a run and gun style is only optimal for our small lineups, with ibaka or siakam at center.
