19 more shots than the Sixers. Nice. The rim was not kind to start the fourth. OG just a split second late on a make and another bounces out cruelly. But they took care of business down the stretch. Not easy with Ibaka having 5 fouls and needing to guard Embiid. Ended up tiring Embiid out.

Kawhi went to the line 17 teams, beasted on the boards, played great defense, had 3 steals, 3 assists along with a good number of hockey assists. I’m mystified as to how it was such a disappointing game from him. He was out there with Monroe a good amount of the time as well - helping to stem the flow there. He is not looking to iso and is making quicker decisions along with the rest of the offense. I mean I don’t see how there is a double-digit win with him playing poorly. What am I missing?

We struggled mightily defensively with him on the floor. Definitely not an easy matchup but that wasnt the point. He was -14 in 18min. Its hard to label him good defensively in my eyes, he was the point of attack for Phillys whole offense. Often like JV is in the past.

We struggled defensively dearly in the fourth with Lowry/Kawhi/Green out and the bench in general struggled on that end. That wasn't just on Monroe...I'm not saying Monroe is good defensively but he was good overall imo. Moose is not known as a great defender, we all know that.

OG definitely showing off that all star potential.

There was no great struggle defensively. They got whistled on the slightest ticky tack shit. The same went the other way a fair bit. Toronto missed freethrows, had some balls take some bad bounces at the rim, and they missed a couple wide open threes. And the misses fed Philly in transition a bit. Monroe was just steady enough. He offered some resistance to keep Philly enough at bay. He was probably in there two minutes too long where his returns really started diminishing. But those two minutes probably really helped ensure that Serge could play without worrying excessively over picking up a sixth foul.

he only made 3 shots, in 11 tries, his offense was off  all night. And had a few pretty bad turnovers too. But as cold as his shot was, I agree he had a pretty good game overall, especially with his decision making. Defensively, he was mostly great, but I thought he wasn't at his best - it's just that his average is still pretty elite. Got pushed in a post a few times by simmons, which didn't really happen in the other 2 games.

All in all, I really, really liked how we played. We didn't have necessarily a fantastic offensive game, with every shot falling dawn - but we moved the ball well, the bench had one of their best games of the year with many guys having throwbacks to last season, the defense was sound, energy was off the charts.

Next 4 games are very winnable, hopefully we can take a 6 game winning streak into the break so they feel good for the 1.5 weeks of away time.

Yeah, this idea that his offense was off all night is complete BS. He went to the line 17 times! WTF if that means anything close to your offense being off. And he was more integrated within the team offense than ever before. It was damn near revelatory. It was not a “pretty good game” in spite of cold shooting. It was domination. He helped to create a really good game on offense as a team. They are establishing an identity here and you sit back and talk about he was mostly great, though not his best but still elite with an average game. What was it then? Mostly great? Not his best? Average? How do you present all three of those bullshit assessments in one sentence? I mean c’mon.

Just watch this - and observe how it is described as DOMINANCE.
