There weren't that many, and the press conference was scheduled for 6pm, it's 4 hours overdue.

Wouldn't worry if not for gasol's health. Hopefully there wasn't anything wrong that came up since the announcement.

Probably just the backlog, but i'll feel better when it's official:)

It’s official. Masai is on right now.

That's like saying the kid who was the last pick on Michael Jordan's JV squad when MJ was cut was better the MJ at the same age. That guy is probably an accountant somewhere and MJ is the GOAT. Just because someone is better than someone at a younger age, certainly doesn't mean that will account to anything. There are so many "prospect" in every sport that looked like they were going to be the Next great thing and amounted to zero. Harold Miner, Freddy Adu, Michael Olowokandi and the list of bust in every sport goes on and on, and the thing they have in common is they were better than other players at earlier ages.; bottom line it means nothing. Yes, he may develop into a perineal all star but it' just as likely he becomes a rotation player /10th or 11th guy on a team. Only time will tell, but for me he projects closer to the latter than the former.

OG already is a rotation player.

There will be a day in future of a humanity when basketball discussion will go on without unwarranted bringing up of MJ and "GOAT". Today is not that day.

The point is, both Siakam and OG started playing basketball late, both came in really raw and both are part of a great program that puts emphasis on player development. Not everyone progresses at same speed. Giving up on OG now is premature and superficial and indicates you are rushing to make that decision only because he isn't making some arbitrary benchmark.

Development is not linear. And why is there criticism of OG when he’s starting to come around?

This was a dominant defensive performance. Really impressive, no matter what team they’ve been playing. Bravo.

17! An hour ago Marc Stein said the league office is still working through the trades.

probably part impatience and part the huge progress siakam made, which makes the smaller step forward made by OG less visible.

And let's not forget his personal issues, he's a 20 year old who lost his dad, suddenly. Just a terrible thing to have to go through.

I'm not rushing to make any decisions. Like I said he may develop to be a good player but after decades of watching and playing the game. everyone develops varying degrees of talent assessment. Some can identify talent or lack thereof quicker than others. Only time will tell who's right.
