Love the Lin signing, however, his defense is pretty bad and teams for sure will try to take advantage of that by going at him. Need to work around that

According to BBall Index’s sortable player grades, Lin grades out with an A in the perimeter defense and playmaking categories – the only player on the Atlanta Hawks to receive such high scores in both areas. Beyond that, the grades give Lin an A- in post play, a B+ in finishing and a B in one-on-one offense.

Yeah, Kenny Atkinson was praising his defense as a Net after the Brooklyn game.

Is this even reliable? From what I've seen it's not that good, and one random article wouldn't change my mind until I see it myself to be honest.

Even if he is below average ( which I don’t subscribe to) the team can absorb one player by your description. Who else would you rather ?

We'd need to send help about every time. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Lins game,  only if he could improve his defense it would benefit us greatly.

I think he's ok for a bench guy

Lin will be playing beside FVV most times (when we are healthy) and Lowry or Powell at other times, and would always guard the lesser opposing guard, usually a teams 4th best guard as he’ll be facing bench units. I’m not too concerned.

I thought Lin's effort on defence was really good tonight. He missed a couple of assignments in the first half, but he contested Beal well when he guarded him, and he got a few deflections in the 2nd half.

This Lowry pre game stuff is so funny! A little tid bit from an article today.

. Lin did do some pre-game scouting, though, because his friends sent him videos of Gasol’s befuddlement at Kyle Lowry’s complex, team-wide starter’s intros. So Lin did push-ups, and was just another Raptor.

“I think all my friends told me ‘Don’t let this be you,’ or ‘This is about to be you,’” said Lin. “And so when I got here — I played with Danny (Green) in what was at the time the D-League — I asked Danny, ‘You got to tell me what’s going on because I don’t want to be Marc in the video. All my friends were sending it to me, so that helped me out so I jumped right into it seamlessly.”

Lin looked pretty comfy in game one.  Looking forward to him in future games.
