The Raptors' season only ended three days ago. There's no need to panic at this moment. Heck, there are far more important things to be concerned about. I also wouldn't expect anything to happen until after the draft, whenever that may happen.

More important? Hmmmm, I have to disagree with that. And why wait until late November? NN was extended and they have nothing but time now.

imo, the issue is not that MLSE will be cheap about it, if Masai wants to stay (I think it's very likely), the only hurdle will be how much he asks. He has enormous leverage, and obviously he's a very negotiator, so this won't be a process that lasts a few days. I wouldn't hold my breath for at least 2 more weeks.

But I definitely agree that it's going to be a top priority for them, no way they wait. Having Masai or not is a huge factor in free agency, giannis will probably not even consider the option of coming here without him.

also, just wildly speculating, I would think Masai will ask for some big commitments to his initiatives, which MLSE will probably be happy to oblige, but the real stumbling block is if he's going to ask for some ownership stake. Given the complex nature of MLSE, even if they are willing, it's probably not an easy thing to do.

MLSE would never give him a piece of ownership imo

He's not Uncle Dennis.

I don't know. There's a global pandemic happening right now. People are losing jobs. There's a great experiment called returning to school. Alt-right organizations are promoting lies everywhere. There's an extremely important election happening in 7 weeks. Extremists are remobilising in the Middle East and northern Africa. Young girls continue to be sold as brides. Slavery is increasing in parts of the world as a result of the pandemic. Yeah, Masai's future with the Raptors is more important than all the shit happening in the world right now.

With regards to this team, the most important thing is keeping Masai here long term. Not sure what kids going back to school or a US election has to do with a high priced executive signing a contract or how him signing a contract makes these things you listed unimportant.  They're separate and Masai can sign a contract extension while still trying to effect change in other areas.

I said there are more important things to worry about than Masai's extension. If Masai's future is keeping you up at night or concerning you more than the things I listed, then your priorities are messed up.

I think we can worry about multiple things and this one of the things I worry about. I can prioritize multiple issues. I never said this worries me MORE than the other things you listed. But this is a Raptors board and his extension has and will continue to be a topic. Doesn't mean we don't discuss or worry about other issues. I think we can all walk and chew gum at the same time.

Like everyone has said, it's too early to fret. But then again, you admittedly fret about everything and anything, so maybe the best thing we all can do is ignore you and let you talk to yourself.

One thing I certainly don't worry about, what you think about my opinions or what I worry about. I could give less than a shit.

Giving less than a shit? That can’t possibly be allowed. Especially if you’re going to be chewing gum and walking. Somebody stop this madman!

8mm annually on his multi year deal.  Good on him - he's earned it and the reputation as one of the best coaches in the league.
