seems that MyGica did a firmware update while i was away on holidays and it's fucked everything up on my boxes
went into Canada Computers to talk to them about it and they said the same (need to change Android device)

he suggested the MiBox...but after doing a little research it seems there is no hardline connection on back of the unit (need to buy a separate doggle to hook it up)
because of that, i'm considering going with the Nvidia Shield (need 2 of them)
the price is ridiculous but the guy at Canada Computers says there's nothing better on the market

if anyone here has one...do you feel it's worth the money ?

Agreed, nothing better on the market from what I've heard.

I had a nice minix that was top shelf, but moved up to the nvidia and it’s just brilliant. I wouldn’t do with anything else.

I still have my MyGica, but once that's gone I'll be getting the nvidia. Thing is a beast. In fact I might be getting one for my second TV soon.

bit the bullet and bought an Nvidia the other day
i'm not a tech guy so i can't say why it's a LOT more powerful/a LOT faster...it just is 🙂

i bought the gamepad version for downstairs (just in case we want to use it)
i'll be buying the reg version for upstairs soon

the Shield is a lot of money when compared to other brands/models...but there is a MAJOR difference in performance..no doubt about it

My biggest concern is that these devices have a shelf life of 3-4yrs (so I'm told). So for the money I hope it would last longer than that.

yeah that’s one aspect where they are clearly ahead. They have regular updates and upgrades to their operating system, so over time they tend to run even better.

Cut the cord with cogeco, switched to start.ca (paying half the price now for 2x the mbps speed) and am streaming from my laptop to a chromecast, which I got an ethernet adapter for. I have no idea why I didn't do this sooner.

I’m with start now as well. Seems really good. I’m paying for 60mb and getting 90-100. No hiccups whatsoever and they were really good to deal with the little i had to in setting up.
