I'll go first.

My buddy is a big propagator of the idea that you only have one life to live, so you better make the most of it. In fact, he's fluent in Japanese and always says Ichi-go ichie-e, which means one chance in a lifetime or something like that.

Several years ago I told him the story of Warren Zevon on David Letterman after he announced he had terminal cancer.

Dave asked Warren if there was anything he understood now, facing his own mortality, that he didn't before and Zevon replied, "Just how much you're supposed to enjoy every sandwich."

So two years ago a group of us, including him are on our way to see Dead and Co. in upstate New York. It was a wild adventure from start to finish. We were already getting kind of far out on the way there if you know what I mean and at some point along the way he turned to me and said, "Brother, do you know why we're doing this? Because you have to enjoy every sandwich!"

Fast forward to the show, the music is amazing, the people are all so lovely and it's just a great scene. They finish the show and come out for the encore and they play Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon. Mind blown!
