Every now and then I like to look at a team and play GM - I'm sure we all do at some level with Kaddrick on one end of the spectrum and the rest of us somewhere on the other lol [wink]

I like what NYKs is on the cusp of doing.  If they win the Lotto they could conceivably trade #1 Zion/DSJ/Knox/Thomas (only 1 year at 1 mil guaranteed) for AD.  Then sign Irving and Durant.  Would be better for Irving to have a defender like Ntilikina playing beside him.

Irving
Ntilikina
Durant
Davis

that's a nice lineup
i've been saying for awhile now that what's good for the Knicks is good for the league

Why would you trade away a potential perennial all start/potential MVP phenom in Zion for win now Only? They can sign Durant and Irving and have new Zion on the team learning. They still are in if not win EC for a good couple years.

for me, the key word is potential ^

Davis is proven and only 26

That's how I feel as well.  Zion could be a lot of things but Davis is 26 and a for sure top 5 player in the league.

I'm also in your camp, that when the Knicks thrive, the entire league goes up a notch.

I'm still in the wagon that the Lakers were in a transition year, so them missing the playoffs is a whatever for me.  It's also better for the Lakers as they'll have a top 10 pick in this years draft - even have the possibility of winning the lottery, which will suck for Western conference if that happens.

With the Lakers, if they miss out on AD, KD, then Walker and DMC could be an option, with the Lakers signing DAJ.  Then trade Ball for J.Jackson.  That still leaves Ingram and a top 10 pick in this years draft.

Walker
J.Jackson
James
DMC
Jordan

Of course, if the Lakers win the lottery, see the AD trade go down. Then sign DAJ. That might be enough to entice a player like Kawhi or Durant or Walker.

let's put it like this, if you knew for a FACT that zion would be as good as LeBron, you should still trade him for AD. Not only AD is better aligned with irving and Durant in terms of age, but he's going to be vastly better for the next 4 years.

And, obviously, zion will never be anything close to LeBron, even to be as good as AD it's not all that likely.

Lakers, all the talk are for the Lakers; so what now after their throw away year, waiting for this offseason.....

Trade Ball/Kuzma to the Suns for #6, M.Bridges, J.Jackson, then send #4, #6, F-frp, Bridges, J.Jackson, Ingram to the Pelicans for AD.

Pelicans can then draft Zion, White and Hayes.

Jrue, White
J.Jackson, Moore
Ingram, Bridges
Zion, Wood
Randle, Hayes

Lakers can then sign, (which I think would be great), Kemba to add to Lebron and AD.
