Multiple levels of suck ass take(TM):
Reputation vs ambition. Energy vs efficiency. 'Wolves vs Rockets.
Thibs was considered a genius not long ago but hasn't adapted one bit since. Now, he is being bashed at every corner for his archaic ways on offense and defense and especially minute distribution.
Probably at the same time Thibs was put on pedestal, Mike D'Antoni was thrown into the sewers, mocked and abandoned. Now, he is celebrated, given a ton of credit even retroactively.
It is yet another clash of worlds. And one has a math problem which is also a creativity problem which is also usually insurmountable for an 8 seed.
There isn't enough belly on Thibs or enough volume in that belly to make his instructions work.
Rockets gonna fly, sweeping across the northern skies of Minnesota. But young Wolves have already won. After 14 long years, they are in playoffs. Gotta have fun now!
